Vametric was the world’s first approved and endorsed supplier of e-portfolio and vocational competency based systems by the UK Awarding bodies. In the decades since, we have continued to innovate with intuitive, easy-to-use solutions that have revolutionized apprenticeship and professional learning management systems around the world.
1996:
The worlds first skills e-portfolio, created by our founder: PaperLite, as it was originally called, used by BMW / Rover group for a merger and talent validation platform
1998:
First external client to BMW were in the Health-care sector, which grew rapidly from 100 users to 100,000 users nationally within 18 months.
2000:
PaperFree is introduced to the a wider market, covering over 250 occupational areas, from accountancy to Veterinarians and becomes the leading tool used in Colleges
2002:
Supported by the Trade and Industry Commission, PaperFree is touted in Hong Kong at the special needs conference as leading education skill software
2004:
VALID-8 reaches a milestone, 1 million completed users and 250 organizations in over 25 countries
1998:
Our CEO and Founder leads a team to conduct a management buy-out from BMW-Rover group, and as such the worlds first commercial e-portfolio was founded and renamed as PaperFree.
1999:
Several of the worlds largest regulatory bodies in Qualifications and Credentials endorsed and supported PaperFree for all students participating in Vocational studies.
2000:
As part of the UK anti Bureaucracy taskforce, PaperFree and our CEO and founder reformed vocational education by working with the qualification and curriculum authority
2003:
PaperFree is renamed as VALID-8 as markets continue to expand including the EU and the US.
2004:
VALID-8 recognized by the strazburg Euro group as the only state of the art e-portfolio
2006:
The largest pilot of e-portfolios and LMS software, with over 300 care homes concludes with VALID-8 as the only successful solution, cutting time in half and maintain over a 90% retention and achievement rate.
2010:
Additional milestones reached with over 500 occupational areas and additional languages including English, Welsh and French. With more to follow.
2006:
PaperFree comes runner up to Dyson as the most innovative technology to transform a sector or industry in 2006.
2010:
Several milestones reached with British Telecom, Ministry of Defense and Rolls Royce Aeronautical and Defence all reaching 10-year anniversaries using VALID-8.
2014:
The company relocates to Canada to pursue the North American Markets
2017:
In 2017 VALID-8 is acknowledged at the World Intellectual Property Organization as a submitted Patent / Patent pending process due to its advanced features.
2023:
VALID-8 concludes Canada’s largest ever Trade online skills pilot covering plumbing, welding, electricians and carpenters.
2020:
In 2020 VALID-8 reaches over 10 billion recorded Assessment determinations on skill behaviors and abilities across 407 different occupational areas.
2024:
VALID-8 concludes Canada’s Work-Placement Pilot to measure the effectiveness of students on their work experience programs.
